MEET MAX!!!

Max is a five year old Anatolian Shepherd (likely mixed with some Great Pyrenees). He is neutered and up to date on his vaccines. He is ready for his forever home.

Max was taken in to a Georgia shelter as a stray in 2022. He was then adopted out a few weeks later. He turned up in the next county over, again as a stray, in 2025. His 2022 adopter was contacted and stated he had moved and no longer wanted Max. So, I guess they just left this sweet boy behind. This landed him on the euthanasia list and we couldn’t let this good boy down.

He is truly a good boy. Walks well on a leash, rides good in a car, loads into a crate as well. He loves treats and to be brushed. He. is non reactive around dogs, has been good with cats (shelter tested) and has been good with our goats too.

However, Max’s perfect home would be one where he can spend time with his people. He would make a great all around farm dog or family dog. A fenced property required, one where he can go in and out with his humans. He loves to go for walks as well, so maybe even someone’s on leash hiking partner.

We are seeking a permanent home for Max. He has been shuffled around enough. If interested in filling out an application for Max, please click here

We have been involved as independent rescuers of Anatolian Shepherds and their mixes since 2000. We are committed to helping Anatolians in need as our way to giving back to the breed. Due to the current crisis in the breed we have joined forces with a few breed specific 501c3’s to expand community outreach and help more dogs in need. Below are the dogs available and the links to apply for adoption to the appropriate individuals and/or organizations.

MEET MAYBELL!

Maybell is a very sweet, approximately 18 month old, female. She was picked up as a stray in Georgia and quickly found herself on the euthanasia list. I worked with rescue affiliates in Georgia to get her pulled. She was spayed and vaccinated through Hands Helping Paws Kangal Dog Project.

Maybell loves people, especially men. She is a chill girl who loves laying out in the field in a self made den. She has done well with our goats and our male Anatolians. She does prefer to eat alone, but she is easily redirected with a simple, “mind your bowl,” reminder. She needs a secure fence, as most Anatolians do.

She was really underweight when picked up in Georgia, weighing in at 75 pounds. She is 86 pounds currently and still needs some weight. She has a healthy appetite and we expect her to be somewhere around 100 pounds when in good condition.

Maybell would be a great partner for an already established male LGD. She would also be great on a smaller farm with lots of human interaction. If interested in applying for Maybell, click here.
