CH STONECOAT RICH AS PUCK

2018- SEJ1 Jackson’s Siyah Vasi x BISS GCH Tribocie Puck

Baasu is a gorgeous fawn boy from the 2018 Siyah-Puck litter. He was sold to the Pacific Northwest as a property guardian. Baasu excelled in the show ring and finished his Championship in just a few shows.

Unfortunately, Bassu did not pass his OFA hip testing. There were nine pups in his litter, 5 were OFA EXCELLENT, 3 were OFA GOOD and he was rated moderate. OFA statistics show one out of ten pups will fail their hips even when both their parents are rated OFA GOOD. Sadly, Bassu was one of those 10. We cannot stress enough the importance of keeping a young Anatolian lean and fit. The dogs in our program should not weigh 170+ pounds prior to the age of 2, or even 3. Considering the rest of litter was mostly OFA EXCELLENT we believe environment also played a role in this rating. Additionally, we believe in being 100% open and honest about any health issues that pop up in our breeding program. It’s one reason we ask that ALL our pups be health tested. We want to track our dogs so we can make informed decisions when breeding forward. We hope that by sharing our own health results that we can encourage other breeders to do the same. Too many breeders claim their dogs have never failed a health test. There are only two scenarios where that will happen; A) They don’t health test enough of their dogs to know. B) They aren’t being honest. We choose to be honest so we can breed better dogs and hope our fellow breeders will choose to do the same.

  • OFA Hips: MODERATE

  • OFA Elbows: NORMAL

Baasu’s OFA Hip Xray. This X-ray shows a severe lack of muscle tone and excess fat around his waist. We cannot stress enough the importance of keeping these young dogs lean and fit.
