BISS GCH Tribocie Puck

AUSTRALIAN IMPORT

After searching for many months for the perfect male dog here in the states, we decided to import instead. Most of the males here in the US lacked the substance and conformation we desired. Our search for the perfect male lead us to Tribocie Anatolian Shepherds in Australia, where we obtained a fabulous male pup named Tribocie Puck. He was everything we had been looking for. He arrived here in July of 2015, at three months old.

In October of 2015, we attended the Anatolian Shepherd National Specialty in Maryland, Pucks first show. He won winners dog that day, at just 6 months of age, beating out mature dogs. This was confirmation of what we already knew, Puck was a stellar pup! He returned back to farm and continued his goat guarding duties. He is a wonderful full time guardian of small Nigerian Dwarf goats. Throughout 2016, Puck attended 7 shows and obtained his championship title.  In October of 2016, the Anatolian National Specialty came up again, this time in California. After much thought, we decided to make the 3,000 mile drive and give Puck a chance to compete against major competition. After six days of traveling we arrived. There were 88 total entries, the largest ever for the National. Puck won Best of Breed a few days shy of 19 months old! Making him the youngest male to ever win!!! He beat out champions, grand champions and specials. This big win skyrocketed Puck to the top, placing him as the number two AKC ranked Anatolian in the US after just 8 shows. Puck earned his Champion title, then Grand Champion title, Best of Breed in Specialty Show, and Best of Opposite Sex at Westminster all before the age of 2, with extremely limited showing (10 shows). He finished as the number four Anatolian in 2018 with 6 show weekends. In Puck’s limited show career, because first and foremost he is a full-time guardian, he stepped into the ring just 25 times. 21 times he won Best of Breed. 17 times those were major wins. What a dog!!!

Puck is everything we look for in breed character. Calm, aloof, confident and he is a gifted mover. He possesses proper temperament both on and off farm.  He has a large, rugged, yet balanced build. He measures 33 inches at the withers and is 172 pounds(mature weight at 5.5 years old). Puck is super athletic and can clear a six foot fence with ease.

Puck made the ASDCA Hall of Fame, earning the prestigious Sire of Distinction Award in 2019. He is one of only six Anatolian males to receive this award and he earned it at the age of four. He currently has produced 18 Champions in five litters by five different dams. He stamps his pups with not only correct working behaviors, but superior conformation as well.

Puck has sired just three outside litters, as we are pretty picky when it comes to breeding to outside dogs. Most of his offspring are a production of Stonecoat. Puck has continued to perform well above the breed average when it comes to health. He currently has 32 offspring in the OFA database. 31 with tested hips, 30 with tested elbows, and one with just Embark results. The most recent OFA stats (2021) for Anatolians say 15.8% fail hips and 5.3% fail elbows. Puck has 30 offspring with passing hips (14 excellent, 14 good, 1 fair, 1 pennhip) One offspring failing with a moderate score. He has 30 offspring with OFA normal elbows. Puck has more OFA tested normal offspring than any other Anatolian in the history of the breed. With more offspring scheduled for health testing this year, we look forward to continuing to outperform the breed average.
